How the map works.
What Postcode Made You? is a voluntary community snapshot of the Australian postcodes that shaped people now living across America. It is not a census or a representative sample.
Methodology
Participants choose one recognised Australian postcode, confirm its locality, and submit an email for duplicate control. The public map groups submissions by postcode and shows aggregate counts and rankings. Locations are approximate postcode coordinates, not participant addresses.
Workplace and club tallies are optional self-selected affiliations. They do not imply employment, membership verification or endorsement. Public figures should be treated as campaign results at a point in time.
Privacy and retention
The public experience never displays names, email addresses, device identifiers or residential addresses. An email-derived hash is stored to limit duplicate submissions; the duplicate-control email itself is not retained unless the participant separately opts into Corala updates.
Optional marketing consent is separate from participation and can be withdrawn at any time. Campaign integrity records are retained for the campaign and a review period, then deleted or anonymised when they are no longer needed. Operational analytics are privacy-safe and do not record email addresses.
Optional hometown photographs are reviewed before publication. Participants must confirm they own or may share the image and that it contains no private home, identifiable person or sensitive information.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to live in New York?
No. The campaign is open to Australians across the United States. New York is the first organised distribution hub.
Can I add more than one postcode?
Please choose the one Australian postcode that shaped you most. Email and browser controls help keep the result to one entry per participant.
Is this a census?
No. It is a voluntary campaign snapshot and should not be used to estimate the whole Australian population in America.
Will Corala market to me?
Only if you separately select the optional marketing checkbox. Participation does not add you to a marketing list.
